Unfortunately, there are extra costs and hidden fees for package delivery. Some of them are dependent on the time of year or international fuel prices, while others are calculated based on the package weight. The three main costs are:
- Chargeable weight: Based on the greater of the dimensional or actual weight of the package.
- Fuel surcharge: There is currently a $0.05 per pound surcharge for domestic products and international International Priority Airmail (IPA) service from the USPS, and a $0.12 per pound surcharge for all other international products. These surcharges are subject to change without notice.
- Peak surcharges: Typically applied during the holiday season—from mid-October to late December—these charges differ depending on the product and service you are using. The costs range from $0.25–$0.40 per package.
